MISSION

The Elgin Public Museum of Natural History and Anthropology aspires to enhance community knowledge of the rich natural and cultural heritage of the locality and to present that heritage within a regional, national, and global context. The Museum strives to engage a diverse audience through the use of illuminating exhibits, a variety interactive experiences, and inspirational programming. .

VISION

The Museum will promote a comprehension and appreciation of local natural history and cultural heritage, both past and present. The Museum will increase awareness of the consequences of the decisions human cultures have made through time, build bridges of mutual respect, and generate enthusiasm for protecting and sustaining biodiversity.
